Institute in 1997, the Latin American Film Festival celebrates its 12th
year. Eighteen countries are represented, and this year His Excellency Mr.
Jean-Daniel
Lafond, a French-born
Canadian documentary filmmaker,
and the husband of the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean,
Governor General of Canada, was the honorary patron
