7th Annual Irish Festival

The Irish Village in the Heart of the Byward Market began in 1992.
The annual Fleadh held each September is a festival
 that celebrates Irish culture in song, music, literature, and dance
 as part of the Bytown Days celebration.

Soul-stirring, singer-songwriter Kirk MacGeachy passed away August 19, 2006.
He played at Hurley's Irish Pub (Montreal) and mentioned that he had indigestion...
He went home and died that night of a heart attack.

It is a great loss to the Celtic community.  He will be greatly missed.
